This project also includes a common 3-track section of approximately 600m up to the Tour-de-Trême junction. The section up to Broc-Fabrique, with a length of 5.4 km, will be completely renewed: change to normal track and renewal of the safety installations.
The aim is to connect the network to the RER in Fribourg, in particular to be able to link Broc-Fabrique to Bern without changing trains. The project, which is estimated at CHF 50 million and is scheduled to run between 2016 and 2018, has already been approved by the FOT (the Federal Office of Transport).
GESTE Engineering has been appointed for the Safety Installations part, from phases 21 to 33 in accordance with the SIA 108. The project is characterised by the following points:
